New Hampshire’s Great North Woods are full of surprises
It may be difficult to picture a legendary professional wrestler as a small child. But that is exactly what the seemingly unlikely connection between Mick Foley and Santa’s Village asks one to do.
Foley, the multiple-time World Wrestling Federation, WWF Tag Team, and ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) World Tag Team Champion, is also a three-time New York Times bestselling author. On two of those occasions, he wrote glowingly about the Granite State’s legendary theme park, Santa’s Village.
“I can’t explain why … I have the Christmas fixation,” Foley wrote in The Hardcore Diaries, “except for a very uneducated guess that all this stuff helps me reclaim the innocence of youth, and that every good thing in my life somehow leads me back to Jefferson, New Hampshire, and the trip to Santa’s Village my parents took me on when I was only three years old.”
