Old World Charm Isn’t As Far Away As You Think
It occurs to us suddenly, as we sip our way through a bottle of pinot noir while munching contentedly on a plate of pierogi, that we are humming along to Nirvana.
It’s Saturday night, and we’re dining at Stash Cafe, a Polish restaurant in Old Montreal, surrounded by French-speaking patrons and a family-friendly staff, enjoying delicious food and drink accentuated by the most bizarre dining music I’ve ever heard. We couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to have traveled for our weekend escape. Few spots so effectively combine the Old World charm of Europe with the New World energy of North America as Quebec’s largest city.
